Netflix Originals: Marvel

Netflix OriginalsNetflix Originals

Netflix has really transformed the way we watch movies and TV shows. It’s on demand and we can now “binge watch”. Another great thing about Netflix is are the “Netflix Originals” series and movies. Ones that are new and produced exclusively for Netflix, ones made in partnership with other networks or even sometimes shows that TV channels have cancelled and Netflix has then picked up and carried on making more.

Although these “originals” are great and everyone loves the idea sometimes it’s quite hard to find them and there is the fear that we are missing out on something that we would actually really enjoy. Simply doing a search on Netflix for “originals” doesn’t return all the results. A search on Google does bring up various lists with detailed text descriptions but sometimes what we really want is for them all to be on one page, categorised and a video trailer. This enables us to quickly see all the dramas or all the comedies or whatever, watch the short clip and then quickly decide if it’s something we want to watch or not…well, here on Steve Says this is is what you can get.

Let’s take a look at the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

Marvel’s Luke Cage

When a sabotaged experiment gives him super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage becomes a fugitive attempting to rebuild his life in Harlem and must soon confront his past and fight a battle for the heart of his city.

Marvel’s Daredevil

The first season sees lawyer-by-day Matt Murdock use his heightened senses from being blinded as a young boy to fight crime at night on the streets of New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood as Daredevil, while uncovering a conspiracy of the criminal underworld being led by Wilson Fisk. In the second season, Murdock continues to balance life as a lawyer and Daredevil, while crossing paths with Frank Castle / Punisher, a vigilante with far deadlier methods as well as the return of his old girlfriend—Elektra Natchios.

Marvel’s Jessica Jones

Following a tragic end to her brief superhero career, Jessica Jones tries to rebuild her life as a private investigator, dealing with cases involving people with remarkable abilities in New York City.

  1. My husband likes Jessica Jones. I am more of a Stranger Things & House of Cards kind of person. And I love that Chelsea is on there. Kudos to Netflix!

  2. Daredevil is excellent but not so taken with Jess Jones – Kilgrave was the best bit. ‘Was’ being the operative word. But I’ll watch anything Marvel so Luke Cage’s spin-off will be getting a watch, as will Defenders and Iron Fist when they’re released.
